# Proxies: Recommended Setup

<figure><img src="/files/mJTKmscbfNjUiHeC7t0z" alt=""><figcaption></figcaption></figure>

In this section; I am going to go over what I personally suggest you need right now in terms of your “Proxy Setup” for Instagram Automation. This is the general type of setup that our agency uses alongside many of our partners who are actively promoting their Models through Social Media Automation.

That being said; you can obviously use these setups to promote whatever you want, whether that be your personal brand/blog, E-Commerce stores, local businesses, affiliate offers, content pages, or any other type of online business. The purpose of this section is simply to give you a solid idea of what I personally suggest you need at this moment in terms of proxy setup so that you can properly get started.

<mark style="color:$warning;">**DISCLAIMER:**</mark>

Before continuing further; I highly suggest that you first carefully read through the Proxy Section where I go over what a proxy is, the different types of proxies, what each proxy type is used for, and the general concepts behind how agencies utilize them.

It is extremely important that you first understand what a proxy actually is before purchasing or setting anything up so that you properly understand the different proxy types and what each one is intended to be used for.

<table data-view="cards"><thead><tr><th align="center"></th><th data-hidden data-card-cover data-type="image">Cover image</th><th data-hidden data-card-target data-type="content-ref"></th></tr></thead><tbody><tr><td align="center"><strong>Proxy Section</strong></td><td><a href="/files/XAMuTL6Ri65tY3nKWni3">/files/XAMuTL6Ri65tY3nKWni3</a></td><td><a href="/pages/A0ij0U0Iyqi6LZ8iSNUu">/pages/A0ij0U0Iyqi6LZ8iSNUu</a></td></tr></tbody></table>

### <mark style="color:blue;">What You Need a Proxy For</mark>

The reason why Marketing Agencies require proxies is because they allow users to run a much higher number of Social Media Accounts without immediately getting detected or linked together. In the previous [Proxy Section](/guides/proxies.md); I explained how if you were to login 10 Instagram accounts on the same device while using your regular home internet connection; there is a very high chance that the accounts would eventually become flagged because your home internet has a single IP address attached to it which gets displayed anytime actions are performed on the accounts.

That being said; what agencies like ourselves (and many others) do instead is use different proxies for different Social Media Accounts in order to help prevent the accounts from becoming linked together. Doing this allows agencies to operate much larger setups consisting of:

* 10 Accounts
* 100 Accounts
* 500+ Accounts

without instantly having everything connected together through the same IP/network identity. Now; it is still important to understand that no setup is ever 100% perfect. There will always be a certain percentage of accounts that may still become flagged throughout:

* The login process
* The warmup process
* The profiling process
* The automation process
* Or other areas related to account trust and behavior

Another very important thing to understand is that this also heavily depends on the type of proxies you are using. As mentioned within the previous Proxy Section; there are multiple different types of proxies and they all vary significantly in:

* Price
* Quality
* Trust level

For our particular setup; we are mainly concerned about:

* Using a 4G Mobile Proxy during the account login process
* And then using Static Residential Proxies for keeping/managing the accounts afterwards

I will explain the reasoning behind both methods below so that you better understand the logic behind why many agencies structure their setups this way.

### <mark style="color:blue;">Logging in</mark>

As I mentioned previously; we need to find a streamlined way to login to a larger number of accounts without immediately getting detected or linked together. One of the most common ways agencies achieve this is by using a 4G Mobile Proxy. That being said; you can purchase/rent 4G proxies from any of the providers listed below. Our team and partners have worked with them before which is why we recommend them. However; after that; I will also explain what larger agencies with higher numbers of accounts typically do regarding their long-term 4G proxy setups.

<table data-view="cards"><thead><tr><th align="center"></th><th data-hidden data-card-cover data-type="image">Cover image</th><th data-hidden data-card-target data-type="content-ref"></th></tr></thead><tbody><tr><td align="center"><strong>Proxy Provider</strong></td><td><a href="/files/CNhcBTRVcrzBVT8NEsk4">/files/CNhcBTRVcrzBVT8NEsk4</a></td><td><a href="https://bartproxies.com/?via=asgerngbwm">https://bartproxies.com/?via=asgerngbwm</a></td></tr><tr><td align="center"></td><td></td><td></td></tr></tbody></table>

Now; one of the biggest advantages of simply renting a 4G proxy from a provider is convenience. You can usually just purchase the proxy, receive the credentials, and immediately begin using it for the month without needing to purchase/setup your own hardware. However; one of the downsides is that sometimes you may not be able to find a proxy located in the exact area/region that you personally live in. Another thing worth mentioning is that some providers do not always offer the most streamlined method for rotating the IP address on demand *(more on that shortly).*

The reason why it is nice having a proxy located within the same general area/region as you is because in the rare situation where the proxy disconnects or experiences downtime; your real IP address may briefly become visible.

Now; this is usually not a huge issue since the proxy providers we recommend generally have very high uptime rates (typically around 99.99% uptime); however it is still something worth considering when deciding whether you want to:

* Simply rent a proxy
* Or build your own setup

That being said; if you are logging into accounts using one of the App Cloners mentioned within the App Cloner Section *(INSERT APP CLONER SECTION CARD HERE)*; you will notice that many of those applications allow you to configure the cloned Instagram app so that if the proxy disconnects; the profile simply goes offline until the proxy reconnects again.

This is extremely useful because it helps ensure that the account remains tied specifically to the proxy IP only; preventing your real IP address from accidentally appearing even if the supplier’s proxy network temporarily goes down. Now; the second thing I mentioned earlier is the importance of having an easy way to rotate/change the IP address on demand.

This is extremely important because when we initially login to accounts across different Instagram Clones; we cannot continue using the exact same IP address for every single login. Instead; before logging into the next account on the next clone; we first rotate/change the IP address. This helps reduce the chances of the accounts becoming linked together.

That being said; with any of the proxy providers I suggested earlier; I highly suggest that you carefully read through their website and ask their support team whether or not they allow on-demand IP rotation.

This is actually a very common feature among most quality Mobile Proxy providers (especially the providers we recommend); however it is still best to directly confirm this with support before placing an order so that you fully understand how their rotation system works before purchasing a 4G proxy.

### <mark style="color:blue;">What I suggest</mark>

At our agency; and what many of our partners also do as well; is that instead of continuously renting 4G proxies every month; they eventually just purchase the hardware equipment and setup their own Mobile Proxy systems themselves. This typically requires you to go through companies such as [XProxy.io](https://xproxy.io/login?ref=TOYBOX10) or [Proxidize](https://proxidize.com?utm_source=chatgpt.com) where you can purchase the hardware required in order to build and operate your own proxy setup.

<figure><img src="/files/wSvOia49xgN2JnxmFACc" alt=""><figcaption></figcaption></figure>

The actual benefit of having your own hardware setup is that it gives you much more control over the location of the IP addresses you are using. In addition to that; once everything is fully configured; you also gain access to a dedicated dashboard that allows you to rotate/change the IP address with literally the click of a button.

<figure><img src="/files/Sj5wuWP9twU6OyAEmYWB" alt=""><figcaption></figcaption></figure>

This is extremely useful because it allows you to provide VA’s (Virtual Assistants/Staff Members) remote access to the dashboard so that they can login and use the proxy system to help setup and manage accounts without needing to physically be at your office. Since I already previously covered how to setup your XProxy Dashboard; you can reference that dedicated section here:

*(INSERT DEDICATED XPROXY DASHBOARD SETUP SECTION HERE)*

In case you simply want to learn more about [XProxy.io](https://xproxy.io/login?ref=TOYBOX10) itself; you can go directly to their website and explore the hardware/equipment they offer.

*All Discount Codes are at the end of this section at the bottom*

That being said; you can ultimately choose whichever method of obtaining a 4G proxy works best for your own situation. For many users; it may actually make more sense to first rent a 4G proxy so that you can test how proxies work, learn the setup process, understand the workflow, and see if Automation is something you realistically plan to scale long-term. However; in the case where you know you want more control over your proxies, better control over IP locations, easier IP rotation, and a more scalable setup overall; then it may make much more sense to eventually look into building your own hardware setup.

One thing that is nice about [XProxy.io](https://xproxy.io/login?ref=TOYBOX10) is that it is generally considered a more affordable alternative compared to [Proxidize](https://proxidize.com?utm_source=chatgpt.com) which is another major Mobile Proxy hardware provider. That being said; the actual hardware itself is usually a one-time upfront cost while the monthly software/dashboard subscription through XProxy tends to be fairly reasonable. I highly suggest that you go through the [XProxy.io](https://xproxy.io/login?ref=TOYBOX10) website yourself and review the different packages/plans available so that you can determine what setup makes the most sense for your own needs.

*(INSERT BOTH CARDS + DISCOUNT CODE HERE)*

### <mark style="color:blue;">Using the 4G Proxy</mark>

Once you have your 4G Proxy ready to use (whether you are renting one from a provider or operating your own using hardware equipment); the next step would be using that proxy to safely login accounts. I am going to add the dedicated section here that explains how you can properly use the 4G proxy to safely login profiles into each of the Instagram Clones.

<table data-view="cards"><thead><tr><th align="center"></th><th data-hidden data-card-cover data-type="image">Cover image</th><th data-hidden data-card-target data-type="content-ref"></th></tr></thead><tbody><tr><td align="center"><strong>Login &#x26; Warmup</strong></td><td><a href="/files/uMjOiSIhSoYpTV93DWyL">/files/uMjOiSIhSoYpTV93DWyL</a></td><td><a href="/pages/HkpieGheCB1McZVD2kMy">/pages/HkpieGheCB1McZVD2kMy</a></td></tr><tr><td align="center"><strong>Setting Up Clones</strong></td><td><a href="/files/NsNRKt8MeD4bHfbdeZq2">/files/NsNRKt8MeD4bHfbdeZq2</a></td><td><a href="/pages/AkS5qszsKcSfvozHMoth">/pages/AkS5qszsKcSfvozHMoth</a></td></tr><tr><td align="center"><strong>Proxy Section</strong></td><td><a href="/files/XAMuTL6Ri65tY3nKWni3">/files/XAMuTL6Ri65tY3nKWni3</a></td><td><a href="/pages/A0ij0U0Iyqi6LZ8iSNUu">/pages/A0ij0U0Iyqi6LZ8iSNUu</a></td></tr></tbody></table>

Now; once you go through those sections and the accounts are fully logged into all the clones/devices; you are probably wondering:

<mark style="color:$warning;">“Do I continue rotating the 4G proxy while the accounts perform actions; or is there another method agencies use afterwards?”</mark>

In the [Login & Warmup guide](/guides/readme/account-warmup-and-safe-login-guide.md); I go over the concept of initially logging into each account using a unique 4G IP address first; and then afterwards deciding how you want to manage the accounts long-term. Once the accounts are logged in and separated using unique IP’s obtained by rotating the 4G proxy between each login; you then generally have 2 main options afterwards.

The first option is simply allowing all the accounts to continue sharing the same 4G proxy afterwards. The second option is purchasing dedicated Residential/ISP Proxies and assigning them individually instead.

I am ultimately going to leave that decision up to you since both methods are actively used by agencies. There are agencies that successfully use 1 single 4G Proxy to house roughly 40–80 accounts all sharing the same IP address afterwards. Now; obviously there is still some level of linking risk involved with this method; however that is simply part of operating larger automation setups in general. The main thing you need to consider here is cost.

As you already know by now; renting a quality 4G Mobile Proxy can cost somewhere around $40–$120/month depending on the provider and region. Because of that; you need to personally decide whether it financially makes sense for your setup.

However; the upside is that a single 4G proxy can potentially house a large number of accounts and as your setup grows; you can simply add additional proxies as needed in order to scale further. Now; in the case where you are operating your own proxy hardware setup instead; then the primary recurring monthly expense becomes the SIM Card/Data Plan itself since 1 proxy essentially equals 1 SIM Card/Data Plan.

At that point; you mainly need to evaluate the cellular data pricing in your area, how many proxies you realistically need, and whether building your own setup makes more financial sense long-term compared to continuously renting proxies every month.

<figure><img src="/files/y2WouFa5JkvwuQB1cHYt" alt=""><figcaption></figcaption></figure>

The alternative solution is purchasing Static Residential Proxies which are basically Internet Service Provider proxies *(think regular home internet connections).* These types of proxies are often sold somewhere around the $1–$2 range each depending on the provider and quality.

Typically; you can house around 3–5 accounts per proxy. What I mean by this is that roughly 3–5 Instagram accounts can generally share the same Residential Proxy. Now; obviously you can push beyond that number if you want to; however there is always a higher chance of the accounts becoming linked together the more accounts you place on the same proxy.

That being said; this would also mean that the device itself would continue sharing the same IP since the way we would actually use these proxies with your Instagram Accounts is through applications that allow us to directly connect the proxies to the device itself.

You can read more about that process here: [Proxy Section](/guides/proxies.md)

Now; regardless of whether you decide to use Static Residential Proxies afterwards or not; you would still need access to a 4G Proxy initially.

The reason for this is because we still need to rotate/change the IP address between each new account login.

This is extremely important because anytime we:

* Login a new Instagram account
* Change the username
* Change the display name
* Edit the bio
* Add/change links
* Or perform major profile edits

we generally want to separate those actions using fresh IP rotations in order to reduce the chances of the accounts becoming linked together during the setup phase. After the accounts are fully setup and warmed up however; many agencies then allow the accounts to share the same IP address while performing regular actions afterwards.

In case you want to read more about how agencies actually perform automation actions afterwards; then I highly suggest reading:

* [The Ultimate Model Marketing Guide](/guides/readme.md)
* [And the dedicated section that goes over different methods of automating Instagram actions](/guides/onimator-tutorial-section.md)

At the end of the day; take a look through all the options, compare the pricing, understand the pros and cons of each method, and then decide what makes the most sense for your own setup and budget. The options are available to you, you simply need to decide which direction works best for your own operation. Here are all the resources mentioned throughout this section. In case any discount codes are available for them; feel free to use them.
