That being said, I highly recommend going through this guide so you can gain a solid understanding of what Instagram automation is and how to use it safely to promote your model, agency, e-commerce store, blog, personal page, or any other venture you plan to advertise.

<mark style="color:$success;">**Instagram Traffic Method**</mark>

There are multiple ways that agencies promote their models, but one of the most common and effective is the Instagram “Mother/Slave” method. I’ll explain how it works so you can get a better idea as to what it is.

<mark style="color:$success;">**Method #1: Mother/Slave Instagram Promotion**</mark>

This method works by having one main Instagram profile for your model (the “Mother Account”) and multiple secondary profiles (the “Slave Accounts”). The idea behind this method is that the Slave Accounts are used to drive traffic toward the primary Mother Account.

In this case, the Mother Account can be your model’s Instagram profile, your own personal page, a website, an online storefront, or really any destination you want users to land on. The purpose of the secondary Instagram accounts is simply to funnel traffic toward that main destination.

We’ll go into more detail later regarding the different ways this can be done, but for now, the important thing to understand is that the secondary accounts exist to support and push traffic toward the primary account. You can have as many Slave Accounts as you want, and all of them can direct visitors back to the Mother Account.

Here’s a simple example to help illustrate the concept and give you a better understanding of how the method works:

<figure><img src="/files/fqMeL7eRHWyTZg30DkJf" alt=""><figcaption></figcaption></figure>

Many agencies prefer this method because it avoids automating the main profile. As you may already know, there is always some risk involved when automating any actions on Instagram. By using the Mother/Slave method, your main account is never directly automated or put at risk.

If a Slave Account gets suspended or flagged, you can simply create and add new ones to keep the traffic flowing to your main profile. This approach allows you to replace any lost accounts while maintaining a steady stream of visitors, all without ever risking your main profile.

<figure><img src="/files/dnjcquISsZOleXjqo0zj" alt=""><figcaption></figcaption></figure>

Here are a few examples of our model pages directing traffic toward the main model’s profile:

<figure><img src="/files/OAxYqqzICK4upTZ5oycc" alt=""><figcaption></figcaption></figure>

That being said, you can create profiles for anything you plan to promote, even if you’re not running an OnlyFans agency or managing your own model. You still have the ability to promote whatever you want using this method.

It just so happens that many of the top modeling agencies use this strategy to promote their models, which is why it’s commonly associated with that industry. However, the overall concept can be applied to virtually any type of promotion, whether that’s personal brands, businesses, products, websites, storefronts, services, or really any destination you want to drive traffic toward.

#### Directing Users To Desintation (Introduction).

Now that you have a basic understanding of the Mother/Slave method, I’ll go into more detail regarding the different strategies our agency uses to direct traffic toward the main model’s profile.

This section is quite important because I’ll also be covering some of the risks associated with the methods I’m going to mention. In addition to that, I’ll explain some of the more optimal approaches that many of the top agencies use to reduce detection risks and help keep their profiles safer, while still being able to effectively direct users toward the intended destination.

The point I am trying to make is that before you start exploring what the best options are, it is still very important to read through everything and understand why the worst options are not suitable.

This will give you a much better understanding of social media automation overall, so you can clearly see why some methods are more effective, safer, and more optimal than others.

#### <mark style="color:blue;">**Directing Users To Your Destination:**</mark>

<mark style="color:$success;">**#1: Tagging the Mother Account in the Bios of the Slave Pages**</mark>

One way to direct users to your main profile is by tagging the main model’s account in the bios of your secondary (slave) pages.

<mark style="color:$warning;">**Pros:**</mark>

* You can add the **@** of the main profile across as many slave accounts as you want.
* Users can easily click the tag to be taken directly to your main profile.

<mark style="color:$warning;">**Cons:**</mark>

* Instagram may detect that multiple pages are all pointing to the same account and could flag or suspend your slave accounts.&#x20;

To be more specific, the reason why this method is not typically considered the most preferred option for directing users toward your exact destination or main Instagram profile is because Instagram can often detect when too many accounts are using the same @username within their bios.

For example, if Instagram notices that 20 different profiles all contain the exact same @username in their bios, their anti-spam systems may flag that behavior as suspicious activity.

That being said, there are still ways to make this method work effectively. However, doing so usually requires a more careful setup, such as using static proxies and keeping a lower number of accounts connected to each IP address. You may not fully understand what that means yet, but don’t worry — all of these concepts will be explained in more detail as you continue reading through the guide.

The main point I want to make here is that placing the same @username in the bio of every account is generally not the most optimal way to direct traffic toward a specific Instagram profile. There are other, more streamlined methods available, which I’ll be covering below.

<mark style="color:$success;">**Method #2: Using Unique Links**</mark>&#x20;

This is the method most agencies typically use. Instead of tagging the main account directly in the bios of each Slave Account, they place a unique link inside the bio of every profile.

Each of these unique links still redirects users toward the same main profile or destination you want traffic sent to. However, because every account is using a different URL, Instagram has a much harder time detecting whether all of the secondary accounts are directing users toward the same location.

While there is never a guarantee that accounts will remain completely undetected, Instagram uses many different factors to identify duplicate or coordinated activity. Having a unique link for each account can significantly reduce the chances of detection compared to using the exact same @username or identical link across all profiles.

The link service we personally use is [GetAllMyLinks](https://try.getallmylinks.com/?ref=toybox). You can visit their website to learn more about how the platform works.

In addition to that, we also have a completely separate section within this guide that explains how to safely add links to accounts while reducing the chances of action blocks, restrictions, or account detections during the process. You can view that section here.

#### <mark style="color:blue;">Additional Information:</mark>

<mark style="color:$success;">**How to Reduce the Risk of Detection Using the “@Username” Method:**</mark>

In the event that you decide to use the “@Username in Bio” method, one of the first things you should do is head over to the Proxy Section and take the time to learn what proxies are, how they work, why they are important, and the different types of options available to you for setting up your automation environment safely and properly.

Having a solid understanding of proxies is extremely important when it comes to social media automation, since they play a major role in helping reduce detection risks and maintaining a more stable setup overall.

You can explore the Proxy Section below to get started with your automation setup

<table data-view="cards"><thead><tr><th align="center"></th><th data-hidden data-card-cover data-type="image">Cover image</th><th data-hidden data-type="content-ref"></th><th data-hidden data-card-target data-type="content-ref"></th></tr></thead><tbody><tr><td align="center"><strong>Proxy Section</strong></td><td><a href="/files/uUT7n69m4QpDbRikHAAb">/files/uUT7n69m4QpDbRikHAAb</a></td><td><a href="https://portal.onimator.com/r/0ZQZN0">https://portal.onimator.com/r/0ZQZN0</a></td><td><a href="/pages/A0ij0U0Iyqi6LZ8iSNUu">/pages/A0ij0U0Iyqi6LZ8iSNUu</a></td></tr><tr><td align="center"><strong>Recommended Proxy Setup</strong></td><td><a href="/files/1GVpNmE246X8eTVfh2G8">/files/1GVpNmE246X8eTVfh2G8</a></td><td></td><td><a href="/pages/5koYgfrGDxDUwoR6e3Bc">/pages/5koYgfrGDxDUwoR6e3Bc</a></td></tr></tbody></table>

Either way, the Proxy Section is something that I will be referring to quite often, especially since it is an essential part of the automation process.

Proxies overall help with setting up accounts in a way that reduces the chances of them being linked together by keeping them on separate IP addresses. At the same time, they allow us to safely manage and make profile edits, such as changing links, bios, and profile pictures, across multiple accounts that are logged in on the same device.

Once again, you can always refer back to the Proxy Section at any time. However, I strongly recommend that you carefully read through that section before you begin implementing the strategies mentioned throughout this guide

<table data-view="cards"><thead><tr><th align="center"></th><th data-hidden data-card-cover data-type="image">Cover image</th><th data-hidden data-card-target data-type="content-ref"></th></tr></thead><tbody><tr><td align="center">Login &#x26; Warmup</td><td><a href="/files/uMjOiSIhSoYpTV93DWyL">/files/uMjOiSIhSoYpTV93DWyL</a></td><td><a href="/pages/HkpieGheCB1McZVD2kMy">/pages/HkpieGheCB1McZVD2kMy</a></td></tr><tr><td align="center">GetAllMyLinks</td><td><a href="/files/5DoVC49B5QswRoTVP4ng">/files/5DoVC49B5QswRoTVP4ng</a></td><td><a href="https://try.getallmylinks.com/?ref=toybox">https://try.getallmylinks.com/?ref=toybox</a></td></tr></tbody></table>

That being said, before you even consider adding links to your accounts, I highly advise that you carefully read through this guide first and take the time to properly understand the process before exploring your options.

The reason I say that is because adding links to profiles requires you to follow a very specific setup process. If you randomly start inserting links into accounts without understanding how the automation process works, there is a much higher chance of flagging the profiles, triggering action blocks, or running into other account-related issues.

Furthermore, all of the links and resources mentioned throughout this guide are re-listed again at the end of the guide, organized within the navigation columns on the left side, and also placed within the Knowledge Base section on our website, ToyBox.Marketing. There will be plenty of opportunities to come back and reference each section later on. The most important thing right now is simply taking the time to carefully read through each section and understand the overall process behind setting up an automation system that can safely direct traffic toward your desired destination.

The link service we personally use is [GetAllMyLinks](https://try.getallmylinks.com/?ref=toybox) because it allows us to manage 1000+ unique links across different Instagram pages for each of our models. This makes it possible for us to direct users from secondary pages toward our models’ primary pages, where we then promote their main destinations and links.

That being said, you can really insert whatever destination you want users to go to. We personally use this setup for promoting our models and directing users toward their primary Instagram accounts, but the exact same concept can also be applied to blogs, e-commerce stores, landing pages, personal brands, websites, or even your own Instagram profile.

The specific destination itself is not the most important part. The primary thing to understand is the process behind carefully setting up your automation system correctly so that you can safely get to that point.

#### <mark style="color:blue;">**Profiling Accounts and Preparation:**</mark>&#x20;

Profiling accounts ties directly into the section I mentioned earlier, where we have to follow a very specific set of instructions before reaching the point where we can safely make profile changes, such as updating profile pictures, editing bios, and adding links to accounts.

That being said, the section that covers this concept in much greater detail can be found here: “Warmup and Safe Guide.”

It is extremely important that you carefully follow that section, since Instagram is very strict when it comes to re-profiling accounts, especially when accounts are first logged into a new device and there is no previous device fingerprint available to match the account’s historical activity.

This section is designed to help reduce the chances of receiving verification checkpoints, action blocks, or account restrictions, while gradually increasing your daily actions and helping your profiles grow more safely over time.

#### <mark style="color:blue;">Preforming Actions (Follows/Likes/Comments and More)</mark>

“Up to this point, we’ve discussed the process of directing users from our secondary accounts (Slave Accounts) toward our main accounts (Mother Accounts).

This is typically done by performing some type of action on the Slave Accounts, combined with a call-to-action (CTA). Examples of this can include a caption in the bio telling users to click the @username, or a link placed in the bio directing them toward the main account.

The overall goal is to encourage users to visit the profile, notice the CTA, and then click through to the intended destination or main profile.”

<figure><img src="/files/KkecM7Z2otpXKIxramxq" alt=""><figcaption></figcaption></figure>

When I refer to “actions,” I’m talking about engaging with a targeted list of users by manually following them, liking their posts, viewing stories, or interacting with them in other ways so that they become curious, visit your profile, notice the CTA in your bio, and then proceed to your main account or intended destination.

I also have a completely separate section that goes over how to properly profile your secondary accounts so they are as highly converting as possible when it comes to getting users to click the link in the bio and navigate toward your desired destination. You can read that section here: (INSERT)

That section also covers some of the industry-level services and strategies used to make profiles appear more appealing and optimized for whatever you plan to promote. You can view that section below.

<table data-view="cards"><thead><tr><th align="center"></th><th data-hidden data-card-cover data-type="image">Cover image</th><th data-hidden data-card-target data-type="content-ref"></th></tr></thead><tbody><tr><td align="center">Profiling Accounts</td><td><a href="/files/FttH5doEPNvWShmUOMGx">/files/FttH5doEPNvWShmUOMGx</a></td><td><a href="/pages/LbkojsBhrxWNYx9GmHTc">/pages/LbkojsBhrxWNYx9GmHTc</a></td></tr><tr><td align="center">Login &#x26; Warmup</td><td><a href="/files/uMjOiSIhSoYpTV93DWyL">/files/uMjOiSIhSoYpTV93DWyL</a></td><td><a href="/pages/HkpieGheCB1McZVD2kMy">/pages/HkpieGheCB1McZVD2kMy</a></td></tr></tbody></table>

Like I mentioned earlier, in order for us to get our target users to our desired destination, we first need to capture their attention.

This is typically done by performing some type of action, such as leaving a like, follow, comment, or another form of engagement, in order to trigger a notification that encourages the user to click and view our profile. From there, the goal is to get them interested enough to eventually click the link in the bio, which then directs them toward the destination of our choice.

That being said, in the next two sections, I’m going to go over the different ways these actions can be performed, along with some of the tactics and strategies you can use to streamline the entire process more effectively.

<mark style="color:$success;">**Preforming Actions Manually**</mark>

When we first started working with only a small number of models, we would typically create anywhere between 10–50 profiles for each model and hire Virtual Assistants (VAs) to help perform actions across all of the Instagram accounts.

We would first collect targeted user lists using third-party services such as ScraperGlass.com (more on that later in the guide). Once the target lists were collected, we would hand those lists off to our VAs (Virtual Assistants), who would then remotely log into our office computers using software such as [AnyDesk](https://anydesk.com?utm_source=chatgpt.com) and begin manually performing actions across all of our devices.

To manage multiple devices at once, we used a screen-casting solution called [CrownScreens](https://crownscreens.com?utm_source=chatgpt.com), which allowed our staff to bulk-control all of the devices connected to our PCs that contained the Instagram accounts. From there, our staff would log into each account one by one and begin performing actions manually across the different profiles.

The overall idea behind performing actions across targeted profiles is simple: the target user receives a notification, becomes curious, clicks to view the profile, reads the bio or CTA, and then clicks the link, which redirects them toward the desired destination.

Here’s an example of what that setup would look like using CrownScreens:

<figure><img src="/files/jfdvy8nfUisKEmxMqprS" alt=""><figcaption></figcaption></figure>

<figure><img src="/files/j3ZIDtDbetVynsTng5Vt" alt=""><figcaption></figcaption></figure>

Each device typically contains between 8 and 24 Instagram clones, though we personally recommend staying within the 8–12 range (and I’ll explain why shortly).

In case you’re unfamiliar with how and why Instagram clones are used, here’s a quick breakdown:

Instagram’s native application from the Google Play Store only allows a limited number of accounts to be safely managed within a single app environment. However, since we want to operate multiple accounts per device in a safer and more organized way, we use App Cloners that allow us to create separate Instagram container clones.

The purpose of these clones is to isolate accounts from one another so that newly logged-in profiles are not all grouped together inside the exact same application environment, which can increase the chances of detection or account linking.

By using a dedicated App Cloner that allows you to create multiple isolated versions of the Instagram application, you can significantly reduce the chances of accounts being linked together, while also allowing yourself to safely manage a higher number of accounts per device than would otherwise be practical.

For more details regarding how to properly set up clones and which App Cloners to use, you can refer to the sections below. In those sections, we go into much greater detail regarding the different cloning options available, along with the specific tools and setups that our team personally uses within our own automation environments.

In case you’re wondering exactly what our team personally uses to clone Instagram applications, we currently use a service called [Nomix Cloner](https://t.me/nomixcloner_bot?start=AQLZPJ0I).

Either way, I still encourage you to read through our dedicated section covering the different App Cloner alternatives so that you can compare the available options yourself and decide what works best for your own setup, needs, and budget.

In addtion to that, I am going to leave another section where I go over how our team actually sets up the clones and downloads them acorss all our devices.

<table data-view="cards"><thead><tr><th align="center"></th><th data-hidden data-card-target data-type="content-ref"></th><th data-hidden data-card-cover data-type="image">Cover image</th></tr></thead><tbody><tr><td align="center"><strong>Nomix Cloner</strong></td><td><a href="https://t.me/nomixcloner_bot?start=AQLZPJ0I">https://t.me/nomixcloner_bot?start=AQLZPJ0I</a></td><td><a href="/files/wNHE3OlzONmjU01FC7G0">/files/wNHE3OlzONmjU01FC7G0</a></td></tr><tr><td align="center">App Cloner Alternatives</td><td><a href="/pages/4kZHpsBF5oDvKycQR4f7">/pages/4kZHpsBF5oDvKycQR4f7</a></td><td><a href="/files/Bhu8Bm3ibsEPuy54eQhX">/files/Bhu8Bm3ibsEPuy54eQhX</a></td></tr><tr><td align="center"><strong>Setting Up Instagram Clones</strong></td><td><a href="/pages/AkS5qszsKcSfvozHMoth">/pages/AkS5qszsKcSfvozHMoth</a></td><td><a href="/files/NsNRKt8MeD4bHfbdeZq2">/files/NsNRKt8MeD4bHfbdeZq2</a></td></tr></tbody></table>

#### <mark style="color:blue;">Additional Information:</mark>

A question you might have is: Why use so many clones if Instagram already allows multiple accounts inside a single app?

The main reason is that this setup allows us to safely manage more accounts per device while also improving overall account safety and separation.

From our own testing, while also comparing findings with other agencies we work closely with, we noticed that when multiple accounts are logged into the exact same Instagram clone/container, problems with one account can sometimes affect the others within that same container. For example, if one account gets suspended, flagged, or restricted, the other accounts inside that same Instagram environment can sometimes also become affected.

Because of that, we consider it much safer to keep profiles separated into their own dedicated clone containers whenever possible. This helps reduce the chances of accounts being linked together.

Another common question is:\
“If Android devices allow multiple accounts within a single Instagram clone, why use 8–12 separate clones per device instead?”

Very similar to what I mentioned above, the reason is that each clone acts as its own isolated container, helping keep profiles separated from one another. In the event that one account on the device encounters an issue, the other accounts are far less likely to be impacted since they are running inside separate environments.

This separation helps reduce the chances of secondary accounts being linked together, flagged, or suspended at the same time.

Another question you might have is:\
“What stops someone from simply creating 50+ clones on a single device instead of only running 8–12 like you recommend?”

From our own findings, we noticed that once we started exceeding roughly 16 accounts per device, the accounts began getting detected more frequently. We’re not entirely sure of the exact reason behind this, but we consistently noticed a higher number of automation-related flags and account issues when pushing devices too far.

In addition to that, we recommend staying within the 8–12 account range because if you eventually plan to use an automation platform such as [Onimator](https://portal.onimator.com/r/0ZQZN0) (more on this later), you’ll quickly realize that accounts need to be scheduled into specific time slots in order to perform actions safely throughout the day.

If you do the math, running 12 accounts within a 24-hour period gives each account approximately 2 hours of runtime for performing actions during that cycle. If you continue adding more accounts beyond that point, you begin reducing the amount of runtime each profile has available.

On the other hand, if you run too few accounts per device, your profiles may reach their daily action limits much earlier within the day, leaving unused runtime capacity on the device itself.

The overall goal is to find the optimal balance:\
You want to maximize the number of accounts you can safely operate on a device without adding so many profiles that it begins negatively affecting the performance, stability, or action capacity of the other accounts running alongside them.

I go over this topic in much greater detail within the Account Warmup and Safe Login Guide, which you can refer to immediately after finishing this section of the guide.

#### <mark style="color:blue;">Summary of Manual Method</mark>

That being said, our VAs would log into our computers at their designated start times and begin performing actions across each of the Slave Accounts from the devices connected to our PCs.

We would provide our VAs with targeted lists of users to interact with, and they would then perform actions such as following, liking posts, leaving comments, viewing stories, or sending direct messages.

Typically, the target lists we provide are made up of followers from other OnlyFans models who post content similar to ours. The reason for this is simple: users who already follow similar creators are much more likely to also follow and engage with the models we promote because the content and audience interests overlap.

That being said, this same concept can apply to virtually any niche or type of promotion.

For example, if your goal is to promote your own Instagram page, an e-commerce website, a course, a blog, a landing page, or any other type of business or service, you would still want to identify Instagram profiles that post content similar to yours. From there, you can collect and target users who are already interested in that niche or type of content.

The application we personally use to collect targeted audiences is ScraperGlass.com. In case you want more information regarding how we actually use the platform to gather and organize our target audiences, you can refer to the dedicated right here: (LINK).

Either way, even if you are not promoting OnlyFans models, the exact same principle can still be applied to many other forms of promotion. The most important thing is understanding the overall concept so that you can later adapt and apply it toward your own goals, niche, or business model.

<mark style="color:$success;">**Preforming Actions Using Automation (Onimator - Real Device Automation)**</mark>

The section above explained how we originally ran the Mother/Slave method manually by using VAs (Virtual Assistants) to perform actions across our devices.

As we began working with more models, we had to continuously hire additional VAs to keep up with the increasing workload. This eventually became quite expensive, since VAs were paid hourly and we were managing well over 1,000 accounts at the time. As you can imagine, the operational costs began increasing very quickly.

To solve this issue, we started exploring automation software that could perform many of these actions for us. The goal was to reduce the amount of manual labor required from VAs while also lowering long-term operating costs.

Over time, we tested a variety of different automation tools, and the platform we currently use is [Onimator](https://portal.onimator.com/r/0ZQZN0).

Onimator is a platform that allows you to control real physical devices and perform actions directly through the official Instagram application. This is extremely important because using real-device automation generally keeps accounts much safer compared to browser-based or web-based automation methods, which are often easier for Instagram to detect, especially when the settings are not configured properly.

By using real-device automation, we’ve personally been able to perform more actions while experiencing fewer suspensions and restrictions compared to traditional API-based or browser-emulation tools.

That being said, I still want to mention that there are other web-based tools that we have used in the past, and many of them do still work depending on what your specific goals are.

For example:

* If your primary goal is performing actions such as likes, follows, comments, story views, or engagement-based automation, then I personally recommend using [Onimator](https://portal.onimator.com/r/0ZQZN0).
* However, if your goal is focused more on direct-message campaigns, scheduling content, or marketing tactics such as “Comment this word and I’ll DM you personally,” then platforms such as [SuSocial](https://susocial.com?utm_source=chatgpt.com), [Geelark](https://app.geelark.com/#/register/?invite_code=ToyBox), and other similar services may be better suited for those specific workflows.

The major difference is that Onimator controls Real Physical Android Devices, while many alternative platforms attempt to simulate or mimic a mobile device environment through cloud-based or browser-based systems.

When a platform is simulating a device rather than controlling a real one, Instagram is often more capable of detecting that behavior, especially during high-risk actions such as likes, follows, and comments.

There are still many other ways these platforms can be used effectively, and I encourage you to visit their websites and explore the features for yourself.

Either way, our team personally uses [Onimator](https://portal.onimator.com/r/0ZQZN0) for our own setups, and that is the platform I currently recommend based on our experience.

<table data-view="cards"><thead><tr><th align="center"></th><th align="center"></th><th data-hidden data-card-cover data-type="image">Cover image</th><th data-hidden data-card-target data-type="content-ref"></th></tr></thead><tbody><tr><td align="center"><strong>Onimator</strong></td><td align="center"><mark style="color:violet;"><strong>Discount Code: ToyBox20</strong></mark></td><td><a href="/files/1rY4FuyCg576C7wpRRYM">/files/1rY4FuyCg576C7wpRRYM</a></td><td><a href="https://portal.onimator.com/r/0ZQZN0">https://portal.onimator.com/r/0ZQZN0</a></td></tr><tr><td align="center"><strong>Geeklark</strong></td><td align="center"><strong>Device Emulation</strong></td><td><a href="/files/jEpS8qXlFI47GMRbEx1Y">/files/jEpS8qXlFI47GMRbEx1Y</a></td><td><a href="https://app.geelark.com/#/register/?invite_code=ToyBox">https://app.geelark.com/#/register/?invite_code=ToyBox</a></td></tr><tr><td align="center"><strong>Susocial</strong></td><td align="center"><strong>API Emulation</strong> </td><td><a href="/files/rbOHsOcZB9INRig29qYM">/files/rbOHsOcZB9INRig29qYM</a></td><td><a href="https://susocial.com/?utm_source=chatgpt.com">https://susocial.com/?utm_source=chatgpt.com</a></td></tr></tbody></table>

That being said; account suspensions can still happen. Real devices don’t completely remove the risk; they just help reduce it.

The primary thing when using a platform like [Onimator](https://portal.onimator.com/r/0ZQZN0) is understanding the settings properly and testing what works best for your own setup. Things such as:

* What type of accounts you use
* How you warm them up
* Your daily action limits
* Your proxies
* Your device setup
* How aggressive you run the accounts

all play a pretty major role when it comes to keeping your Slave Accounts healthy and reducing suspensions or action blocks.

In short; Onimator works very well, but it’s not some magical “set it and forget it” software where you just click a button and never touch it again. You still have to monitor your setup, optimize your settings, test different approaches, and understand how Instagram reacts to different behaviors if you want to keep things running smoothly long term.

Below are a few sections you can refer to after you finish reading this guide. They will walk you through:

#### <mark style="color:blue;">**Setting Up the Devices and Getting Them Ready for Automation**</mark>

As mentioned earlier, we first have to prepare each device before it’s ready for automation. This includes downloading the Instagram app from the Play Store, installing a Dedicated App Cloner (Link to App Cloner Section) so that we can clone Instagram accounts, purchasing accounts, and then editing/profiling them so they are ready to forward traffic to our main pages.

We manage this entire process by controlling the devices through screen-sharing software, which allows us to setup and manage multiple accounts across all the devices at once.

<figure><img src="/files/jfdvy8nfUisKEmxMqprS" alt=""><figcaption></figcaption></figure>

We use [CrownScreens](https://crownscreens.com?utm_source=chatgpt.com), which you can download directly from their main website.

You might be wondering how we’re able to have so many devices connected to our computers at once, and below I’m going to go over a couple of different ways you can achieve this yourself.

<mark style="color:$success;">**Phone Farms:**</mark>

You may already have an idea by now, but we use real devices to perform automation.

While many agencies rely on web-based software to perform actions, Instagram can often detect this more easily since it’s not very common for regular users to heavily use Instagram through a browser environment. The primary reason we use physical devices is because it helps the activity appear as human as possible.

That being said, [Onimator](https://portal.onimator.com/r/0ZQZN0) is only compatible with Android devices, which allows us to safely perform actions while minimizing the chances of accounts getting linked together — provided that everything is setup, warmed up, and managed carefully.

<mark style="color:$success;">**Android Devices:**</mark>

Initially, we started by using regular Android devices and then connecting them to USB hubs that were linked to our PCs, where the software would be hosted and controlled from.

<figure><img src="/files/KQDG2s9HcXKKtZ1fnwKP" alt=""><figcaption></figcaption></figure>

We followed this approach for the first couple of years, and at the time, it worked quite well. However, because the devices were constantly connected to chargers and running 24/7, the batteries eventually started overheating and bloating over time.

<figure><img src="/files/DaZqr3ZWL9Av82sxr3Uz" alt=""><figcaption></figcaption></figure>

We soon realized that we would eventually have to start replacing the older devices, since the batteries would slowly begin to bloat over time from constantly being plugged in and running 24/7.

On top of that, we also noticed that too much heat was building up in certain areas where multiple devices were stacked together, so we had to install cooling fans around the setups to help reduce the temperatures and prevent the devices from overheating.

<mark style="color:$success;">**Phone Boxes:**</mark>

We then started looking into phone boxes, since they remove the batteries from the devices entirely and instead connect the charging cables directly to the motherboards.

We also had our supplier install cooling fans inside the boxes so that the heat could dissipate more evenly across the room, rather than building up and lingering in one concentrated area.

<figure><img src="/files/rvI9xleGM7GB5Dg03JbJ" alt=""><figcaption></figcaption></figure>

After going through many different suppliers, we personally recommend [CrownDevices.com](https://crowndevices.com?utm_source=chatgpt.com). It’s the same company that created the screen-sharing software [CrownScreens](https://crownscreens.com?utm_source=chatgpt.com), so I personally vouch for them based on our own experience using their setups.

They offer a wide variety of different phone boxes, and I highly suggest that you carefully go through their website, ask questions, and explore the different options available so you can figure out what type of setup would work best for your own operation.

<figure><img src="/files/32iwVP3FNIJKVRW55NIP" alt=""><figcaption></figcaption></figure>

In case you do decide to purchase anything, I highly suggest that you go through our PhoneBox Section first so you can better understand the differences between the various types of Phone Boxes available, along with which setups our agencies personally use.

You can view that section here:

In case you’re wondering which PhoneBoxes our team personally uses, we currently use the Samsung S9 and Samsung S10 devices with WiFi capability (the Acrylic Box versions)

<figure><img src="/files/viuW5wC7sFwUteIjwDMN" alt=""><figcaption></figcaption></figure>

<table data-view="cards"><thead><tr><th align="center"></th><th data-hidden data-card-cover data-type="image">Cover image</th><th data-hidden data-card-target data-type="content-ref"></th></tr></thead><tbody><tr><td align="center"><strong>PhoneBox Section</strong></td><td><a href="/files/tcmUH6cmEMNXHyMpsC0l">/files/tcmUH6cmEMNXHyMpsC0l</a></td><td><a href="/pages/O5tN42KHTPnh3bLcT6fu">/pages/O5tN42KHTPnh3bLcT6fu</a></td></tr></tbody></table>

<mark style="color:$success;">**Connecting to the Internet:**</mark>

In order to use Instagram, your devices obviously need to be connected to the internet. That being said, it’s important that we quickly go over how to do this safely without getting all of your accounts linked together.

In the next section, I’m going to briefly explain what an IP address is and why it’s so important when it comes to social media automation.

This is also something that gets covered in much greater detail within this section here:

<table data-view="cards"><thead><tr><th align="center"></th><th data-hidden data-card-cover data-type="image">Cover image</th><th data-hidden data-card-target data-type="content-ref"></th></tr></thead><tbody><tr><td align="center"><strong>Proxy Section</strong></td><td><a href="/files/XAMuTL6Ri65tY3nKWni3">/files/XAMuTL6Ri65tY3nKWni3</a></td><td><a href="/pages/A0ij0U0Iyqi6LZ8iSNUu">/pages/A0ij0U0Iyqi6LZ8iSNUu</a></td></tr></tbody></table>

That being said, for the sake of explanation, I’m going to briefly go over the concept here so you can better understand where I’m going with this, since it all ties directly into how you would ultimately connect your phones to the internet without getting your accounts linked and flagged.

It’s actually very important to understand the overall topic surrounding IP addresses, because this is one of the primary areas where Instagram’s detection systems spend a large amount of their resources tracking and identifying suspicious behavior.

<mark style="color:$success;">**IP Addresses**</mark>&#x20;

In simple terms, an IP address is basically like your home address, except it’s for your internet connection.

Anytime you log in to a social media app (let’s use Instagram as an example) and perform an action, such as liking a post, following someone, sending a message, or leaving a comment, that request gets sent to Instagram’s servers. Instagram then checks the IP address attached to that request to verify where the activity is coming from before forwarding the action to the intended account.

The main point I’m trying to make is that anytime you perform an action online, Instagram can see the IP address tied to your internet connection. Think of it almost like your “online home address.”

<mark style="color:$warning;">Why is this important?</mark>

Imagine logging into 100 different Instagram accounts using the exact same Wi-Fi or internet connection. Instagram will quickly notice that all 100 accounts are operating from the same IP address, which is not normal behavior for regular users. This can raise red flags and potentially lead to accounts getting linked together, flagged, restricted, or suspended.

This is exactly why agencies use specific networking methods to reduce the chances of accounts being linked together, and why large agencies are able to safely manage hundreds or even thousands of accounts within their automation setups.

<mark style="color:$success;">**Method #1: Using SIM Cards**</mark>

This method is commonly used by agencies that have access to affordable mobile data plans. In this setup, each device contains its own SIM card and runs entirely off mobile data.

**Pros:**

* Each device receives its own unique IP address because every SIM card acts as its own separate internet connection.
* Very natural-looking traffic since the devices are using real mobile carrier connections.
* Good account separation.

**Cons:**

* Data plans can become extremely expensive in countries such as United States, Canada, or Australia where mobile data pricing is much higher.
* Most PhoneBoxes do not support SIM cards because many of them remove the original phone housings and SIM functionality.
* Managing hundreds of SIM cards can become difficult at scale.

<mark style="color:$success;">**Method #2: Using a VPN**</mark>

This is one of the most popular methods used by many top agencies because it’s very simple and cost-effective to setup.

The basic process is:

* Download a VPN app from the Play Store
* Purchase a subscription
* Install the VPN across all devices
* Log into the VPN application on each device

**Pros:**

* Much more cost-efficient compared to mobile data setups
* VPNs help hide your real IP address, reducing the chances of accounts being linked together
* Compatible with PhoneBoxes
* Easy to scale and manage

**Cons:**

* If you use the same VPN account across too many devices, the VPN provider itself may suspend or flag the account because it’s not considered normal behavior for one subscription to suddenly appear across 100+ devices simultaneously.
* The way many agencies work around this is by using one VPN subscription for roughly 20 devices, then creating another VPN account for the next batch of devices.
* Typically, VPN subscriptions range anywhere from around $20–$40 USD per month, which is still fairly reasonable when spread across multiple devices.”

<mark style="color:$success;">**Method #3: Proxies**</mark>

Proxies are another very popular option used by many top agencies. They work somewhat similarly to VPNs, except that instead of fully masking your connection, Instagram is still able to see the proxy’s IP address.

That being said, whether the IP address is fully hidden or not isn’t really the primary concern. The main goal of using either a VPN or a proxy is simply to operate your accounts in a way that reduces the chances of them getting linked together.

The general proxy setup process works like this:

* Download a proxy application from the App Store or Play Store (Superproxy)
* Rent a proxy from a provider that offers them (Bart Proxies)
* Enter the proxy credentials into the application
* Click “Start” to connect the device through that proxy connection

If you prefer to create your own proxy setup instead of renting one, the process works a little differently.

In simple terms, many mobile proxy setups are created by inserting SIM cards into USB dongles or modem devices. These dongles then broadcast the mobile internet connection, allowing you to route traffic through the SIM card’s mobile IP without needing to physically insert SIM cards into every individual device.

This method is especially useful for agencies using PhoneBoxes, since a single proxy connection can often be shared across multiple devices.

By comparison, with Method #1 (direct SIM cards), each SIM card can only be inserted into one individual device at a time. With a proxy setup, multiple devices can instead connect through the credentials generated from the SIM card that’s inserted into the dongle or modem.”

<figure><img src="/files/SVNX8Y45TsuQg3jhfc6U" alt=""><figcaption></figcaption></figure>

Using a 4G proxy can typically support around 40–80 accounts per proxy. That being said, the price per proxy is usually around $40–$80 per month.

Obviously, the exact rate will vary depending on the supplier, the proxy quality, and whether you are renting proxies or running your own proxy setup. However, based on the math our agency has done, proxies have been slightly more beneficial for us overall, especially since we have noticed fewer suspensions, action blocks, and verification issues across the sample size of accounts we are hosting.

In case you want to understand the specifics of proxies, the different types of proxies, and how to decide whether you should rent proxies or purchase the equipment and create them yourself, carefully refer to the Proxy Section here.

I highly recommend reading that section very carefully, since it is one of the most important parts of the entire setup. This is the section that explains how you can more effectively run 20, 60, 100+ devices while reducing the chances of your accounts getting linked or flagged.

<table data-view="cards"><thead><tr><th align="center"></th><th data-hidden data-card-cover data-type="image">Cover image</th><th data-hidden data-card-target data-type="content-ref"></th></tr></thead><tbody><tr><td align="center"><strong>Proxy Section</strong></td><td><a href="/files/XAMuTL6Ri65tY3nKWni3">/files/XAMuTL6Ri65tY3nKWni3</a></td><td><a href="/pages/A0ij0U0Iyqi6LZ8iSNUu">/pages/A0ij0U0Iyqi6LZ8iSNUu</a></td></tr><tr><td align="center"><strong>Recommended Setup</strong></td><td><a href="/files/UGeO2T3SUzXFeBoYf1F7">/files/UGeO2T3SUzXFeBoYf1F7</a></td><td><a href="/pages/5koYgfrGDxDUwoR6e3Bc">/pages/5koYgfrGDxDUwoR6e3Bc</a></td></tr></tbody></table>

<mark style="color:$success;">**Method #4: Using your Home Internet:**</mark>&#x20;

Some agencies do choose to run automation through their home internet, though they understand there’s a higher risk of accounts getting linked.

To help reduce that risk, they will often connect a proxy to their phone and rotate the IP address through the proxy dashboard each time they log in and add an account to their Instagram clones. After that process is complete, they turn the proxy off and continue running automation through their home Wi-Fi connection.

For example, we had one agency report that they were able to manage around 1,100 accounts on a single Wi-Fi connection before receiving any warnings or issues.

That being said, every setup is different, and results can vary depending on account quality, warmup process, action limits, device setup, and overall account behavior.

<figure><img src="/files/KKbB0aGUpOweTMWI325z" alt=""><figcaption></figcaption></figure>

That being said, this is obviously not the first option I would recommend, since there is a much higher chance that your profiles could get linked, especially when you are running hundreds or even 1,000+ accounts on a single home network using the same IP address.

Even though there have been agencies that have successfully done this, the important thing to understand is that you still need some sort of proxy setup (or one of the other methods mentioned earlier) for the initial account login and setup process.

This is covered in much greater detail within the Account Warmup & Safe Login Guide, but it’s something you should already be thinking about now so you can properly plan your setup accordingly.

### <mark style="color:blue;">**Instagram Accounts for Automation:**</mark>

As you may already know, you obviously need Instagram accounts in order to perform automation.

Just so you have an idea, many people try creating accounts themselves at home to save a few dollars. However, based on our own experience, and just to save you a lot of time and frustration, it’s often better to source accounts from specialized suppliers instead.

The reason for this is because many account suppliers that sell social media profiles for automation use advanced software and setup methods when creating accounts so that the profiles are less likely to become linked or instantly suspended.

You can actually test this yourself:\
Take a regular Android device and start manually creating Instagram accounts on it. You’ll quickly notice that after creating a few accounts, Instagram may begin flagging the device, and the accounts can end up getting suspended or restricted.

This happens because Instagram tracks things such as device fingerprints during the account creation process, which can cause all the accounts created on that device to become linked together.

Not only can the accounts themselves become affected, but the device can also become flagged afterward. This can later create additional issues when you eventually try to run automation or perform actions on that same device.

That’s why, while you absolutely can create your own accounts if you want to, it may honestly save you a significant amount of time, troubleshooting, and resources by simply purchasing accounts from reliable suppliers instead.

Many of these suppliers use specialized tools and workflows that reset or isolate device fingerprints after each account is created, making it much harder for Instagram to link the accounts together and reducing the chances of instant suspensions.

This allows you to immediately focus on profiling accounts, warming them up, and promoting whatever you plan to market, rather than wasting large amounts of time dealing with account creation issues.

Our team personally gets Instagram accounts from [ToyBoxAccounts.com](https://toyboxaccounts.com?utm_source=chatgpt.com)

### <mark style="color:blue;">**Additional Information:**</mark>

Now that you have a general idea of how agencies promote their models, you can start taking these same strategies and applying them toward any business model you’re planning to build or are already running.

Just keep in mind, this isn’t some fully “done-for-you” system where you just click a button and everything magically works. You still need to test different settings, optimize your setup, and figure out which parts of the automation process work best for your specific product, store, landing page, personal brand, or whatever it is you plan to promote

# Agent Instructions: Querying This Documentation

If you need additional information that is not directly available in this page, you can query the documentation dynamically by asking a question.

Perform an HTTP GET request on the current page URL with the `ask` query parameter:

```
GET https://toyboxmarketing.gitbook.io/guides/readme.md?ask=<question>
```

The question should be specific, self-contained, and written in natural language.
The response will contain a direct answer to the question and relevant excerpts and sources from the documentation.

Use this mechanism when the answer is not explicitly present in the current page, you need clarification or additional context, or you want to retrieve related documentation sections.
